Mustafa, we identified and interviewed people and organizations in Syria who could provide up-to-date information on the situation of people with disabilities in Syria, ensuring that their unique human rights stories are told before the world. Human Rights Watch consistently consults with persons with disabilities and their representative organizations and engages with them in research and advocacy at local, national, regional, and international forums.įor example, for our research and advocacy on Syria, we consulted local activists with disabilities including Nujeen Mustafa during the design and throughout the implementation of our project on protection of persons with disabilities.
